Buying a quality, timber Somerlap garden shed and want it installed? Whether you don’t have the time to do it yourself, or you simply don’t want to, here's everything you need to know about our hassle-free, shed installation and disposal service.

The benefits of shed installation

Have your shed up in no time!

Don't have time to do it yourself? Can't find someone to help you? The Somerlap installation service means that your shed will be ready to use in a flash.

Expert installation

Our trusted and experienced Somerlap installers have put up hundreds of sheds, so you can be confident that your shed installation will be nothing less than professional.

No DIY tools required

The Somerlap installers will bring everything they need, so there's no need for you to buy any new equipment or tools.

No charge for bearers

Our shed installation service includes free bearers. Bearers raise the shed off the floor, allowing air to flow freely underneath. This helps to stop moisture being trapped beneath the building – something that could result in the floor rotting.

What is the best base for a shed?

It's vital that the base for your shed is level and firm (an uneven base will make lining up the panels difficult prior to fixing). The following are ideal shed base materials:

  • Concrete
  • Paving Slabs
  • Grass
  • Compacted Soil
  • Compacted Stone or Woodchip

An uneven, soft base can result in the ground subsiding and your shed "going out of square".

The following are NOT suitable base materials:

  • Bark
  • Compost
  • Hardcore
  • Shingle
  • Soft ground (turned soil or sand)
  • Stones

Where is the best place to put a shed?

Where possible, we recommend that you place your shed away from overhanging trees. Trees (and plants) growing close to your shed could eventually cause damage – either from holes in the roof felt or plant leaves causing the wood to become damp.

If you need advice on preparing a base or positioning your shed, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
