Somerlap were delighted to once again have the opportunity to support the Wedmore Real Ale Festival and appeared on the official event T-shirts.

The event was as successful as always, raising an incredible £15,000 for worthwhile local causes. All the staff who work at the festival are volunteers, and Somerlap's own Kelly Jones personally raised £55 by agreeing to be drenched in beer during the beer bucket challenge auction!

The money raised was donated to a number of local groups including Wedmore Brownies, Wedmore in Bloom, Weston Hospicecare and Wedmore Playing Fields Management Committee. In total, the festival has donated £133,571.00 over the past 15 years.

Committee member Alan Page, said: “The festival as a whole was a huge success and a great time was had by all, but none of this would have been possible without the on-going dedicated support of all our sponsors and volunteers, and we are really grateful for their vital contribution.”

We're already looking forward to next year's event which is taking place between 16th – 18th September 2016.
