Fundraising boost for two local Somerset schools
Somerlap Forest Products together with the children from Wedmore First School, Year 4 and children from Burnham on Sea Infants School, Year 2 joined forces to help customers select their freshly cut Christmas Trees with ALL profits going to the schools.
The event took place at Somerlaps' show site, Wells Road, Mark between 10:00 am and 12:00pm on both Sat 06-Dec-08 and Sun 07-Dec-08.
Everyone entered the Christmas spirit; Somerlap staff and the children donned Santa hats and had their faces painted with snowflakes, Christmas trees and snowmen. The Furniture Showroom was transformed for the weekend; serving hot choc and mince pies, warm berry juice and gingerbread. Children entered our colouring competition and also a lucky dip. The results of our colouring competition will be notified on this website on 21 December 2008.
The children worked well together and managed to raise an amazing £300 – giving each school a donation of £150
