Somerlap Support Wedmore Harvest Home 2009
With Harvest Home celebrations well underway, Somerlap joined in the spirit of the Wedmore Harvest Home 2009.
The Harvest Home celebrations started with prayers and hymns in the Borough Mall. With roads closed off to traffic, participants gathered for the official judging of carnival floats and fancy dress entries. Somerlap's Kevin Bond and Tracy Spurrell judged the five classes of float entries. Somerlap also sponsored a presentation cup; entry wristbands to the event and a vehicle to head the procession. Somerlap's newest addition to its fleet of vehicles was beautifully decorated with fresh flower displays by Carol Wilcox of Lower Splott Farm. The vehicle, which carried the Queen, King and Princess of the Harvest Home, lead the procession through the streets of Wedmore to finish at the harvest home show site.
