Somerlap's 'Monster' Cabbage takes first prize

The 'Green-fingered' team at Mark based Pallet & Timber Garden Product manufacturer, Somerlap, have managed to scoop no less than 10 first prizes at the Royal British Legion Flower & Vegetable Show held in Mark, Somerset.

Besides winning 10 first prizes, the Somerlap team also won 2 second prizes and 5 trophies including The John Thursfield Cup, The Singleton Cup and the Len Cox Cup. The winning entry that stole the show was the Somerlap cabbage which weighed in at a staggering 25 lbs!!!!

The Somerlap allotment garden is located within the show site in Mark, Highbridge and is cared for by Tony Symonds and Gerald Dally with other members of staff regularly weeding and watering the garden.
