Installation Guide For 5 And 6 Bar Gates
There are a number of ways that a gate can be hung. See below for the various alternatives and the gaps that would be required to allow for the hinges and catch.

Fig.1 - If a single gate is hung and closed on the face of the posts, the gate will open one way with a total swing of 180°. GAP = Gate width LESS 75mm (3”)

Fig.2 - If a single gate is hung and closed between the posts, the gate will open both ways with a total swing of 90° in either direction. GAP = Gate width PLUS 165mm (61/2”)

Fig.3 - If a single gate is hung between the post and closed on the face, the gate will open one way with a total swing of 90°. GAP = Gate width PLUS 75mm (3”)

Fig.4 - If a single gate is hung on the face and closed between the post, the gate will open one way with a total swing of 180°. GAP = Gate width PLUS 12mm (1/2”)

Fig.5 - If double gates are hung between the posts, both gates will open both ways with a total swing of 90° each way. GAP = Gate width PLUS 225mm (9”)

Fig.6 - If double gates are hung on the face of the posts, both gates will open one way with a total swing of 180° each. GAP = Gate width LESS 75mm (3”)
